If you have an interest in any of these products they can be discussed with the Optometrist during the course of a routine assessment to determine if you are a candidate.

Glasses:

Single vision: prescription lenses for one viewing distance, whether it be close, far, computer

Bifocal: prescription lenses including 2 distances typically for distance and reading.  This lens is often referred to as a lined bifocal

Progressive: prescription lenses including a range of viewing distances going from distance to reading.  This lens is often referred to as an invisible bifocal.

Trifocal: prescription lenses including 3 distances distance, computer and reading, there are two visible lines in this lens.

Coatings:

Anti-reflection: this coating is on the lenses in order to reduce the glare, it allows more light transmission through the lenses resulting in clearer, crisper vision.

Transitions: these lenses change to darken outside and clear when you are indoors.  This coating is activated by the surrounding UV light.  It does not work well inside of a vehicle because the windshield has a protection against UV rays.  There are different types of transitions lenses.

Hi-index lenses:  this lens may be recommended for you depending on the type of prescription you require.  They allow the lenses to be thinned out therefore making them lighter and more aesthetic.
